The
Gate
The world generates.
Rebel curates.
An open artist call.
Once a month, Rebel opens The Gate to a new group of works. For now, submissions begin with artists working through Midjourney. Other systems may follow as The Gate evolves.
The Gate is not representation nor is it exclusivity. Think of it an introduction and a chance to show us something we haven't seen before.
Strong images and ideas start somewhere.
Head over to Pinax for inspiration. It gathers openly licensed artworks from the world's museums into one independent archive. Every file is stored with the licence its museum attached to it, readable beside the image, verbatim.
Each work carries a direct image URL. Drop it straight into Midjourney as an image prompt, a style reference, or an omni reference. Learn from history and those who walked before us. Make something new.
Open Pinax →Anyone can generate. To an extent, at least... We are interested in what you chose to keep.
The Gate is an open route for artists who believe something they have made deserves another look.

Create, then select one Midjourney work you think we should see.
Not ten. Not your portfolio. One.
Open Midjourney →Curatron Reads
Our experimental in-house machine-reading system.
It looks for visual structures, relationships, anomalies and patterns; it is another instrument, another perspective.
Rebel Decides
Augmented human judgement.
Selected works pass through The Gate and enter the open gallery.

Selected works do not have to stay where they were uploaded.
Through Rebel Vision, artwork can move directly from one screen to another using visible light; without Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular service or a network of any kind.
Rebel Vision is an experiment in what a digital exhibition route might become when the network itself disappears.
